Speak No Evil

Against a colorful tropic scene unfolds the story of Elizabeth Dakin, married to a millionaire dipsomaniac. She is preparing her escape when he is shot. Suspicion immediately falls on her, but there are others in the tangled affairs of the Dakin household - Dyke Sanderson, Dakin's nephew with whom Elizabeth had once had a fleeting romance; Cyril Kirby, the English yachtsman who clearly understands and sympathizes with Elizabeth's unhappiness; Dakin's first wife who arrives to safeguard her share of the estate, and Ruth Reddington, cool, audacious, efficient business associate of Dakin who bluntly tells Inspector Friker that Elizabeth is the only one who could have committed the murder. Then there is the little lucky piece of three monkeys with the motto, "Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil," which was there on the table beside the dead man and which so mysteriously disappeared.
