Festus, a poemPhilip James Bailey
An extended poem detailing the story of a man who sold his soul to the Devil. The poem doesn't have a definitive structure and is disorganized. It is seen as a parallel to Goethe's *Faust*. Some of Bailey's later works, including *The Angel World*, and *The Mystic* weren't as successful as Festus and were subsequently integrated into the continuing versions of Festus.
